Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi chaired the extraordinary Arab Summit, held upon the request of the State of Palestine in the New Administrative Capital.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said during the summit Arab leaders discussed ways to support the Palestinian cause. They affirmed their absolute rejection of displacing Palestinians from their lands or liquidating the Palestinian issue. The Arab leaders stressed the steadfastness of the Arab position with regard to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, being the only way to achieve lasting peace in the region.
The summit also discussed and approved the Egyptian plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip without displacing its people. The Arab leaders expressed their full support for this plan, which was reflected in the final statement of the summit.
President El-Sisi delivered a speech during the opening session, in which he stressed Egypt's pillars towards the Palestinian issue.
