This evening, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi attended a dinner banquet hosted by King of Denmark, H.M. King Frederik X, in his honor. This prestigious event is part of the President’s current State Visit to Denmark.
Following is the speech delivered by President El-Sisi during the official dinner.
‘In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Benevolent’
Your Majesty King Frederik X,
King of the Kingdom of Denmark,
Your Majesty Queen Mary,
Your Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Allow me to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the warm welcome and exceptional hospitality I received from the moment I arrived in Denmark, on the first visit by an Egyptian president to this ancient country.
I would also like to seize this opportunity to extend my warmest wishes to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II, wishing her an abundance of health. I would also like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the entire world.
Your Majesty the King, Your Majesty the Queen, Distinguished guests,
The common goals that unite us today constitute a vital bridge for communication and dialogue between our friendly countries. It is a precious opportunity to enhance cooperation across various fields, ultimately leading to the strategic horizons to which we both aspire.
In this critical phase in human history, we must collectively shoulder the responsibility of disseminating the values and principles of justice, peace, equality, tolerance, and mutual respect among nations and cultures, and rejecting war, violence, and hatred.
It was only natural for the Kingdom of Denmark to be the first leg of my Northern European tour, just as Denmark chose Egypt to be its gateway to the African continent as part of its strategy for cooperation with African countries.
Undoubtedly, my visit to Denmark comes at a time when our bilateral relations are witnessing remarkable growth across various fields of cooperation, in addition to ongoing coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest. We look forward to crowning this by signing a declaration tomorrow that will elevate our relations to the level of strategic partnership.
The launch of the Egyptian-Danish Business Council today, and the alignment in views that prevailed in my discussions with Your Majesty and with the CEOs of Denmark’s largest companies operating in Egypt demonstrate a deep conviction in the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the economic and investment fields, in light of the immense opportunities and potential that both Egypt and Denmark possess.
I am confident that the prevailing atmosphere in today’s meetings will continue in my upcoming discussions tomorrow with Her Excellency the Prime Minister and with His Excellency the Speaker of Parliament, confirming our countries' commitment to strengthening bilateral relations as strategic partners.
Your Majesty the King, Your Majesty the Queen,
I am certain that both of you are avid admirers of the Egyptian culture. Therefore, it is my pleasure to extend an invitation for you to visit Egypt so that we can together celebrate the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest museum dedicated to one of the oldest civilizations in history—the Egyptian civilization.
In conclusion, I would like to wish you and the people of Denmark an abundance of prosperity, security, peace, and development.
I would also like to reiterate my appreciation for your generous hospitality. I look forward to welcoming Your Majesties to Egypt in the near future to further strengthen cooperation and coordination between our friendly countries.
Thank you very much.
