President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting addressed the latest updates of the executive plan of the national project for the development of 1000 Egyptian villages.
The President issued directives for setting up the national project for the development of 1000 Egyptian villages within the context of an integrated and organized effort by all government agencies concerned, within the framework of sustainable development that targets the Egyptian countryside. Thus, the capabilities of the infrastructure of these villages would be raised in all service, living and social aspects so as to comprehensively change the reality of life for residents to the better, in line with the development efforts that include all state sectors.
The meeting also touched on the details of the general plan of the national project to raise the efficiency of 1000 villages in about 22 Egyptian governorates, including 50 Markaz (centers) in those governorates. This plan shall be done in integration with the national program for rural development “A Descent Life” on 3 stages via certain pillars that are set with the aim of improving the standard of living of citizens, alleviating poverty rates, developing the infrastructure and basic services provided to them, especially in a number of fields, such as education, schools, housing, electricity, sanitation, drinking water and natural gas, and boosting waste recycling. This is in addition to establishing industrial zones to promote small and medium-sized enterprises, developing health units, raising the efficiency of irrigation network of canals and drains, and promoting agricultural development and veterinary services, as well as establishing a chain of advanced milk collection centers.
