Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
The Spokesman for the Presidency said the phone call focused on a number of bilateral relations issues, notably cooperation in the economic, industrial, and energy fields. The two presidents also reviewed work progress in El Dabaa nuclear power plant as well as the establishment of the Russian Industrial Zone East of Port Said.
President Putin confirmed his country’s commitment to further advancing the fruitful and firm cooperation between the two countries. He also underlined the importance he places on the regular coordination and consultations with President El-Sisi with regard to various regional and international issues.
President El-Sisi valued the longstanding partnership relations with Russia which was culminated in the conclusion of the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between the two countries. This agreement opened up new prospects for bilateral cooperation in a multitude of areas and joint ventures in addition to those currently underway.
During their phone conversation, President El-Sisi and President Putin discussed developments in the most important regional and international dossiers. The Russian president reiterated his appreciation for President El-Sisi’s personal efforts in this regard, which helped enhance the political trajectories for the settlement of crises in the region. He added that this reinforced Egypt’s role as a fulcrum to preserve peace and stability in its regional milieu. President Putin stressed Russia’s commitment to further advancing cooperation and intensive coordination between the two countries in this regard.
