President El-Sisi Pays Official Visit to Khartoum

This morning, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi leaves for Khartoum, Sudan, on an official visit.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the President’s visit to Sudan, the first of its kind after the Transitional Sovereign Council has been formed, consolidates Egypt’s efforts under the leadership of the President in support of Sudan and its brotherly people during the current important historic stage Sudan is going through. The visit also highlights Egypt’s keenness to ensure coordination and develop common visions and positions between the two countries on various issues of mutual interest.

During his visit to Khartoum, The President is to witness an Egyptian-Sudanese summit as well as a number of bilateral meetings with senior Sudanese leaders and officials. They are expected to discuss various files related to joint cooperation and means to strengthen bilateral relations especially at the military, security, and economic levels. These talks embody the strong mutual will between the two brotherly countries to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, thus contributing to achieving their common interests.

Discussions on the most important developments in several regional and continental issues, particularly the Renaissance Dam, Red Sea security, and Sudanese borders situation, will be held.
