President El-Sisi Meets with PM and Minister of Social Solidarity

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Social Solidarity Ms. Nevine El-Kabbaj, and Advisor to the President for Financial Affairs Major General Mohamed Amin.

 The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that, during the meeting, the projects of the Ministry of Social Solidarity were presented within the framework of social protection initiatives and programs.

 The President gave directives for supporting resources of Ataa Fund for people with disabilities and special needs, at a total of EGP 100 million, funded by Tahya Misr (Long Live Egypt) Fund. Ataa Fund is a part of the state’s efforts aimed to enhance community participation and provide people with disabilities with the best services and care, the Spokesman added.

The President also directed the various government agencies concerned to support the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Social Solidarity in "Homeless Children" Initiative. His Excellency also called for developing their institutions so as to provide the best care and rehabilitation programs for integrating homeless children into society in a healthy, educational and social framework.

 The Spokesman stated that the Minister of Social Solidarity presented the ministry’s strategy of the governance of procedures and the creation of accurate and integrated databases in the social solidarity sector as a basis for developing and sustaining performance in this vital sector.

Ms. Nevine El-Kabbaj also presented the executive measures taken to help improve the conditions of 1000 small villages nationwide in the framework of “Decent Life” program. She also presented the efforts exerted to develop “Takaful and Karama” program. In this regard, the future vision for expanding the program’s base to include the largest number of beneficiaries was tackled. These efforts that are exerted by the state highlight its keenness to implement local development plans and to provide care for the most vulnerable groups in order to improve the economic, social and environmental conditions of families in poor villages and to help them have access to all basic services.

Ms. Nevine El-Kabbaj also reviewed the draft of the national plan to combat drugs 2020-2025, in addition to the developments of "Homeless Children" program.
