Readout of President El-Sisi’s Call with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi spoke today with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the President extended condolences to the government and people of Pakistan on those killed by the floods recently. He stressed the solidarity of Egypt’s government and people with flood-battered Pakistan. The President has also affirmed that Egypt is sending humanitarian aid to Pakistan to help mitigate the effects of that crisis faced by the Pakistani people.

The President also praised the historical relations between the two countries, stressing his aspiration to develop bilateral cooperation, exchange expertise, and consult on various regional issues of common interest with Pakistan.

Prime Minister Sharif expressed his thanks to the President and the Egyptian people for this generous gesture, stressing the deep relations between the two friendly countries and peoples. He expressed that he is looking forward to having further fruitful cooperation between Egypt and Pakistan, especially in the field of climate change in light of the 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 27) Egypt is hosting in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The Pakistani Prime Minister also commended the inspiring Egyptian experience in various development fields under the leadership of President El-Sisi. He also lauded Egypt’s wise actions in its region which are regarded as a rational policy in the region.
