President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made a phone call this morning to Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett upon assuming his new post.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that during the call, the President stressed Egypt's support for all efforts aimed at reaching a just and lasting solution between the Palestinian and Israeli sides in order to achieve a comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

Furthermore, the President affirmed the importance of preventing any escalation of tension between the Palestinians and Israelis. The President also underlined the importance of supporting Egyptian efforts for the reconstruction of the Palestinian territories and discussed the development of bilateral relations.

During the call, the Israeli Prime Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by Egypt to achieve security and stability in the region, to reach the recent ceasefire agreement and to sponsor prisoner-exchange negotiations. The Israeli PM praised the results achieved since the two countries signed the peace agreement under American auspices.
