They also discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the coming period in the field of combating terrorism in the Sahel region, and elevating the capabilities of the national military forces in the region to confront terrorist organizations. This is while taking into account the efforts undertaken by Egypt to combat terrorism by holding training courses to build the institutions of the Sahel countries and the continent as a whole. This is in addition to raising their capabilities in various technical and military fields, as well as programs to combat extremism offered by various prestigious Egyptian religious institutions with the aim of upholding the values of moderate Islam at the level of the African continent.
Concluding their talks, the two presidents witnessed the signing of a number of memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements between the two countries in the fields of electricity, renewable energy, antiquities, culture, sports, and mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and mission passports.
