Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Tunisian Prime Minister Najla Bouden in Brest, France.
The Spokesman for the Presidency stated that the President asked for his greetings to be conveyed to Tunisian President Kais Saied and expressed the appreciation of Egypt’s leadership and people for the close historical bonds that unite the two brotherly countries. The President reconfirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for the Tunisian leadership and government to adopt any measures to preserve the Tunisian state and achieve stability in the country. He affirmed Egypt's confidence in the ability of the Tunisian authority, led by President Saied, to overcome the current critical stage to a future that fulfills the aspirations of the Tunisian people.
The Tunisian prime minister conveyed to President El-Sisi the greetings of the Tunisian president, stressing that Tunisia holds in high regard the solid and longstanding ties between the two countries at the official and popular levels. She also confirmed Tunisia’s keenness to continue the pace of periodic and intense consultation and coordination between the two countries on regional issues of common interest. This is in order to confront the various challenges facing the region currently. She expressed appreciation for Egypt's efforts in support of Tunisia and its vital role in maintaining regional security and stability.
The Spokesman added that the talks touched on ways to further boost bilateral relations at all levels, especially facilitating trade and increasing inter-investment. Satisfaction with the level of ongoing cooperation and coordination between the two countries was expressed, while emphasizing the importance of supporting that for the benefit of the two countries and peoples by taking advantage of all available opportunities to enhance integration between them.
Views were also exchanged on a number of regional and international issues of common interest, especially developments in Libya. There was agreement to intensify joint coordination in this regard to support all efforts aimed at Libya's stability, unity and territorial integrity and the preservation of its national institutions.
