Remarks by President El-Sisi in a Statement during Meeting with Libyan Tribal Sheikhs and Notables

The official Facebook page of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi posted some of the President’s remarks in a statement he made during his meeting with the Libyan tribal sheikhs and notables. This meeting was held under the slogan “Egypt and Libya… one people, one fate."

- We will not allow armed militias to operate in Libya anymore.
- Egypt is capable of changing the military situation swiftly and decisively.
- Egypt will not stand idly by if the Sirte - Al-Jufrah line is crossed.
- We will prevent any further destabilization of the eastern part of Libya.
- Egypt will not stand idle in the face of any direct moves posing a threat to the Egyptian and Libyan national security, and it will act forcefully.
- The Egyptian army is one of the strongest armies in the region and Africa.
- Egypt has always supported the political solution in Libya and has no anti-Libyan positions.
- The fact that the parties to the conflict do not have the will to reach a political solution is triggered by the interference of foreign powers that rely on and use certain parties to achieve their interests.
