The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made an inspection tour of the region of El-Galala Mountain. The President's tour included the marble and granite city, which comprises 8 marble factories, with a total capacity of 24 million square meters annually and a granite factory with a capacity of one million square meters per year.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inspected 3 factories for marble production. The first factory has been fully constructed, and it has already begun operation and started production; the other two factories are due to be completed by 30 June 2020.
The President also visited Galala University, which comprises 14 faculties specialized in food and agriculture, architecture and medical sciences, an international conference center, and dormitories for students and teaching staff.
The Spokesman added that the President's tour also included the residential district, tourist resorts, restaurants, shops, and the telepherique (cable car) at Galala City. President El-Sisi also visited the mountain hotel at El-Galala resort, which has a 298-room and suite hotel, 3 restaurants, a major conference hall and swimming pools.
The President also visited El-Galala seawater desalination plant that is equipped with a total of 4 gantry cranes, which can extend to as far as 70 meters to reach Galala City. The President also inspected the strategic reservoir complex, which comprises six water reservoirs with a storage capacity of 120,000 cubic meters, an amount which meets water demand for one day.
