Lake Bardawil Development in North Sinai

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Company for Fishery and Aquaculture demonstrated the project in the attached video (from 24:18 to 26:46). The efficiency and development of four berths were raised and obstacles were removed with a total of 3,500 tons of barriers, clearing the straits in the first stage, completing studies for establishing villages for fishermen and taking executive measures. To prevent fry fishing and wasting fish resources, cooperation between the relevant state agencies was made, and a vision was set to prevent fry fishing and overfishing, implement hunting laws and pay attention to fishermen and their living conditions. To develop the fish industry, foreign expertise from the Chinese company “Evergreen” was used. To export the product, a sorting and export hall was established in Eghzewan berth in Lake Bardawil and an export license was obtained for the European Union. Additionally, a research and development center was established; it contains specialized laboratories that work in monitoring water quality and live fish food, and health of fish diseases, as well as the composition and quality of feed.
