The hospital is considered a medical edifice that provides integrated medical care for people either living or visiting Matruh and El Alamein, as part of the various development and services projects in the coastal region. El Alamein Hospital is built on a total area of 23,597 meters; the buildings cover about 3,708 meters. The hospital has a capacity of 97 beds divided over the emergency, intensive and intermediate care, internal departments and cardiac care, in addition to 5 surgery rooms, 10 incubators and 9 dialysis machines.
The hospital includes the following; reception, emergency, anesthesia, obstetrics and gynecology, neurosurgery, general internal medicine, cardiovascular, general surgery, plastic surgery, pediatrics, intensive care, cardiothoracic surgery, maxillofacial surgery, artificial kidney, ophthalmology, orthopedics and pathology.
To improve the services offered by the hospital, new units have been added. This includes a new MRI unit regulated by the largest and fastest MRI machine. It performs many examinations on patients without the need to insert the head into the device, reducing the fear some patients have. The device works using Artificial Intelligence to improve image quality and scan speed, fitting patients that could weigh up to 250 kgs.
Also, the cardiac catheterization and interventional catheterization unit, inside the hospital, is equipped with the state-of-the-art catheterization devices in the world. It is used in treating advanced cases of heart disease, in addition to its ability to use brain catheterization, peripheral arteries as well as dealing with cardiac and cerebral clots and acute heart clots and injecting tumors. The device can catheterize patients who weigh up to 275 kgs.
