Raising the Efficiency of El-Shabab El-Ghazeya Power Plant

• President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated the plant via video conference on Tuesday 24/7/2018, while his Excellency was inaugurating some national projects in the field of electricity.

• The plant's production capacity has been raised from 1000 megawatts to 1500 megawatts, using the latest technologies of clean and environmentally friendly electrical energy  without using any form of fuel and exhaust from the gas unit and also using steam as well as restoring energy from steam.

• The plant was operating on a simple cycle system since 1982 through 3 gas units that were enhanced in 2011 by establishing only 8 units and producing 1000 megawatts. After the development and introduction of combined cycle technology systems that operate without the use of fuel, the production capacity was increased to 1500 megawatts through the use of air-cooled condensers system which was implemented for the first time in Egypt and the Middle East region.

The project is shown in the attached video (2:11:35 to 2:12:52).
