New Administrative Capital Power Plant

The New Capital Power Plant was established in 2016. The first phase was opened in early March and was completed in May 2018.

- It is located on an area of 175 acres, 42 kilometers away from Katameya Road, Ain Sokhna.
- The cost of setting up the plant is about 2 billion euros under an agreement between the government and German Siemens company, with a total capacity of 4800 megawatts.
- It is the first station of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East to be established in a mountainous area away from water as is usual in power plants.
- It operates with an air-cooling system containing 12 giant fans used for the first time, unlike Al-Borlos and Beni Suef plants operating with a water cooling system.
- It provides about $400 million a year, the value of the fuel that will be provided.
- It includes eight H-class gas units, the latest technology in the world's gas units, with a production efficiency rate 65%, the highest efficiency rate in the world.
- The plant has 3 modules, each containing 2 gas-fired natural gas units, a steam exhaust unit of the two fuel-saving units, and two boilers to restore the lost energy, which will be connected to the national network at a voltage of 500 kV.
- It contains 4 steam units in the plant compared to 8 gas units, and tests were carried out for all steam and gas units.

The project is shown in the attached video (2:53:00 to 3:02:00).
