Largest Power Plant in Gabal El Zeit

- The new wind farm "Gabal El Zeit" is located in Kilo 118, Gabal El Zeit area, south of Ras Gharib city, covering 100 square kilometers.

- The station is one of the world’s largest electricity-generating plants in terms of area, the number of turbines and capacities generated from the station; the number of turbines reaches 300.

- The plant’s total capacity is 580 MW, and the station includes 580 projects, the first of which includes 120 turbines with the capacity of 240 MW. 100 turbines were connected to the national electricity grid, and the second project includes 110 turbines with a capacity of 220 MW, connecting 75 turbines to the grid with the capacity of 150 MW.

- The third project includes 60 under-construction turbines with the capacity of 120 MW. Gabal El Zeit wind farm costs about 12 billion pounds.

- The station contains the system of monitoring migratory birds, through the radar to stop the turbines when the birds fly then reoperate them, a system used for the first time in the world.

- The station, implemented by the Spanish company “Gamesa” before being merged with the German company "Siemens", contains three administrative buildings, including a building for the monitor and control room for all turbines at the same time.
