New Ismailia city is located 72 km far from the Suez Canal, south of the middle road and was extended to Jabal Maryam, where the new city is about 500 meters away from the new canal shore, and away from the 1.5 km ferry no.6 to the north to Port Said, 9.5 km to the south to Suez and with a depth of one kilometer within the Sinai Peninsula.
The city is the best extension of the current city of Ismailia in terms of location and proximity to the axis of development of the Suez Canal.
The first phase of the new housing project in New Ismailia aims at building 35,000 residential apartments. The second phase will include 57,000 housing units other than the government offices, a general office for the governorate, a headquarters for the Security Directorate, beach clubs and a park area. The New Ismailia city will be built on 2,157 acres with the length of 11.3 kms between the course of the waterway of the Suez Canal. This project includes the construction of 57 thousand and 54 residential units, 620 semi-detached villas and 373 separate villas in addition to health and social service facilities and a sports club for the armed forces.
The city is located on an approximate area of 10 million square meters. The New Ismailia City has 7 residential districts, which are built on seven phases, each residential district consists of 700 residential buildings and a number of villas with full facilities and services from service buildings, such as schools, markets, health units, and hospitals. The residential units are divided into four levels suitable for all social segments, where there is a 90 square meters model of economic housing and a 120 square meters model of average housing, another 145 square meters model (average housing), and a 160 square meters model of luxury housing. It also has many parks and green areas so that the new extension of the governorate will preserve the beautiful character of Ismailia.
The first phase apartments will be allocated to the citizens of Ismailia and the Suez Canal as well as the workers in Suez Canal projects and the axis of the Suez Canal. The details of the reservation of new apartments and villas in New Ismailia City were scheduled to be announced at the end of 2016 with the completion of the first phase of the project. The reservations of these residential units will be open to the citizens prioritizing the employees of the projects in the east of the Suez Canal with the knowledge of the Ministry of Housing and Ismailia governorate. The next stages will be open to the largest number of citizens as this project aims to settle the largest number of citizens in the east of the Suez Canal on the land of Sinai.
