President El-Sisi Meets the Prime Minister of Italy

On the sidelines of the Egyptian-European Summit today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, Giorgia Meloni.

President El-Sisi and Italy’s Prime Minister Meloni lauded the momentum in bilateral relations over the past period, and reviewed ways to cultivate closer cooperation in various areas. The talks touched on bilateral cooperation in the sectors of food security and agricultural production. The meeting also discussed the two countries’ partnership in the field of agriculture and land reclamation, which aims to transfer Italy’s advanced technology in this domain in order to boost the returns from these projects and open up broader prospects for exporting food products from Egypt to Europe.

President El-Sisi and the Italian Prime Minister also focused on the regional situation, primarily in the Gaza Strip. They reviewed Egypt’s unwavering efforts to reach an urgent and immediate ceasefire and ensure the unrestricted delivery of much-needed humanitarian aid and relief to protect the sector from the grievous humanitarian catastrophe endured by the Palestinian people there.
