“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful”,
Your Excellencies, Leaders of African countries,
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission,
The CEO of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA – NEPAD),
Your Excellencies and Distinguished Guests,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
At the conclusion of our Summit of the NEPAD founding states, I would like to extend my gratitude to you for our fruitful deliberations today and for adopting the Alamein Declaration.
Through this Declaration, we reaffirm the important role played by the founding states of the NEPAD Agency, as well as the pivotal role of NEPAD as the leading development agency on our continent and its constructive contribution toward the implementation of Agenda 2063.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The time has come for Africa to rely more on its own resources and to develop and adopt African financing mechanisms. True development does not come from outside; rather, it is built through the will of the people of the continent, and through their knowledge, work, and creativity.
Your Excellencies,
The Alamein Declaration accorded special importance to the African private sector, as a key driver in accelerating the execution of the second ten-year implementation plan of Agenda 2063. The capacities of African businessmen, businesswomen, investors, and private capital remain indispensable.
In this regard, we welcomed the Alamein Africa Business Forum as a permanent platform to be held biennially, bringing together decision-makers, project owners, and financial institutions in one event and one venue.
In conclusion, I extend my sincere thanks to the Republic of Angola for joining Egypt in hosting this Summit and for its valuable contribution to its successful proceedings.
I hereby declare the conclusion of our meeting today.
Thank you for your kind attention.
May Allah’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you.
