I welcome the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by His Excellency President Donald Trump and His Excellency President Masoud Pezeshkian. I would like to express my deep appreciation for President Trump’s leadership and wisdom, as well as his sincere efforts to enhance security and stability in the region. I also commend President Pezeshkian’s positive engagement and his commitment to reaching mutually acceptable understandings.
I highly value the full coordination with regional partners to achieve this satisfactory outcome. We appreciate the relentless efforts by Pakistan, Qatar, and the other members of the Quartet, represented by Saudi Arabia and Turkey, in facilitating the conclusion of this Memorandum of Understanding.
I hope that this step will be a major turning point ushering a new phase of de-escalation, confidence-building, and mutual cooperation, leading to lasting security and stability in the region.
