President El-Sisi Attends Assessment Tests at Egyptian Military Academy Headquarters in New Capital

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, witnessed the assessment tests for applicants joining the Egyptian Military Academy and military colleges, at the Academy’s headquarters in the new capital. Upon the President's arrival at the Academy, President El-Sisi was received by the Director of the Egyptian Military Academy, Lieutenant General Ashraf Zaher, and the directors of the military colleges.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said after the President arrived at the council hall of the Egyptian Military Academy, a presentation was given on the status of the tests for applicants nominated for admission to the Academy and military colleges for the October 2025 intake. After the presentation, applicants proceeded to the assessment tests.

The President began the tests by reiterating the Egyptian Military Academy's commitment to selecting the best candidates for admission with objectivity and impartiality, using the latest accurate scientific standards, which are applied fairly and transparently to ensure equal opportunities for all. This takes place through an automated system, therefore achieving the fairest selection to the fullest extent. The President added that the Academy plays a key role in shaping the Egyptian character and preparing the youth to participate in the state’s development with confident and rapid steps. This requires scrutiny in the selection process of candidates, in addition to providing high-quality educational and training programs and applying a fair examination and testing system to ensure a genuine evaluation.


The President pointed out that the Armed Forces College of Medicine provides a scientific, intellectual, and academic level of the highest standard, comparable to the level of education in the best medical colleges in the world. The President emphasized that graduates will compete with graduates of the best universities in the world, due to the highly advanced curricula, education, and training that they will receive, as well as the automated system applied in both education and examinations. The President reassured the students' families regarding the system applied in the college and its governance, urging students to focus on acquiring knowledge, taking into account that the internship stage is an integral part of the study at the college, noting that there will be cooperation between the college and the most important medical colleges in the world.


President El-Sisi had an interactive dialogue with the Military Academy applicants, during which he addressed a number of topics, including the economic situation, the foreign currency reserves, means to manage internal and external debt, in addition to creating job opportunities for the youth and implmenting AI, automation, and digitalization in state institutions. The President explained that the state has an ambitious plan for digitalization and the integration of these fields in educational curricula to develop education and keep it up with the domestic and international labor market. The President also indicated that the development process in general in the country continues and requires time and that the state has a comprehensive development program to achieve progress and contribute to eliminating unemployment. The President stressed the importance of adopting all the necessary measures to improve public health and physical fitness of citizens, especially among the youth.


Digital transformation in government institutions was also discussed. The President noted that there is an ambitious national plan to implement that across all governorates, according to available resources. In response to an inquiry about how to address problems on the Egyptian street, the President stressed that it was important for local authorities, governorates, and officials to continue fulfilling their respective roles to ensure order on the streets and to address any related problems promptly.

Regarding social media networks, the President noted they were an integral part of progress in the world, adding that these tools can be utilized for their positive aspects, provided they are used sensibly.

In response to an inquiry about the President's position on some observations about the voting process in the House of Representatives elections, the President affirmed that what he did was a "veto" in objection to some practices due to his dissatisfaction with them, stressing his keeness to complete all matters in the best possible way, which is in line with the interest of the Egyptian people. The President explained in this regard that Egypt was on the brink of collapse in 2011, and that since assuming office in 2014, the President has strived to change the situation for the better. In order to accomplish this, all must share the conviction and will to achieve this goal. The President stressed the need to continue improving the situation for the better, affirming that this goal will be achieved by Allah's will and the work of the Egyptians, noting that he will prevent any obstacles in the way.

The President commented on a proposal on the importance of amending the Child Law, after a number of related crimes occurred recently, stating that this issue has a societal dimension, and that there are many laws in Egypt that cover all aspects. However, the strict implementation of laws without exception must be the focus, as well as the need to raise awareness of citizens so that there is a proper application and implementation of the laws. The President stressed that the whole society has a role in this regard, whether it is the family, school, universities, mosques and churches, as well as the media.

In response to an inquiry about Egypt's ability to achieve self-sufficiency in basic commodities and offer them at reasonable prices, the President indicated that 2026 would see the addition of 4.5 million feddans to Egypt's total cultivated land, which currently stands at approximately 9 million feddans. The President explained that achieving self-sufficiency in all basic commodities is practically not possible, given that 95% of Egypt's land is desert, in addition to the current population size. The President stressed the importance of rationalizing the consumption of basic commodities in Egypt as much as possible. The President outlined the benefits that Egypt will reap upon the completion and operation of the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, including the production of 4.8 gigawatts of electricity, as well as its potential to support the field of nuclear medicine and other sectors in Egypt.

During a meeting between the President and PhD. holding preachers from the Ministry of Religious Endowments, who will join the Egyptian Military Academy for a two-year course, in the presence of the Minister of Religious Endowments, the President emphasized that the number of study hours these students will receive in the course-10-12 hours daily-exceeds the number of hours required to obtain a PhD degree. This qualifies the course graduates to receive a high academic degree, surpassing PhD. He added that the aim of this course is to achieve genuine enlightenment, to prepare enlightened and pious scholars who will benefit their nation, to confront retardness and extremism and to increase understanding and cultivate a comprehensive intellectual framework distinct from previous approaches. The President stressed the importance of the Arabic language, as it will assist in the correct understanding of religion, while also encouraging the pursuit of proficiency in other languages. The President urged the imams to be guardians of freedom, including freedom of belief, stressing that he is against all forms of sabotage and discrimination, and that he personally and directly follows everything that is happening, including at the Egyptian Military Academy.

Regarding regional issues, the President affirmed that Egypt strives to achieve stability in all countries in the region facing crises, similar to its efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip. The President added that Egypt has lost approximately $8 billion in Suez Canal revenues due to attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea in the past years.

The President had lunch with the director of the Egyptian Military Academy, the directors of the military colleges, the Minister of Religious Endowments, and students studying at the Academy. During an interactive discussion between the President and the students, President El-Sisi noted that qualified male and female students can enroll in the Armed Forces College of Medicine, either as military or civilian personnel. He reassured the students' families that the college is managed meticulously and according to the highest standards. The President emphasized the importance of promoting sports, especially among the youngsters, and expressed his openness to any positive and feasible proposals involving student unions at universities in all matters related to youth and in relevant decision-making processes.
At the conclusion of the event, the President conveyed a message of reassurance to the attendees regarding the current situation in the country, noting that the cohesion of the Egyptians is a blessing from Allah.
