President El-Sisi Speaks with Prime Minister of Iraq

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, following the attacks that targeted Iraq.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt's support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq, as well as Egypt's solidarity with the Iraqi government's position rejecting any attempt to drag Iraq into the current escalation. The President emphasized Egypt's stance against any violation of the sovereignty of Arab states or any threat that jeopardizes their security and stability.

There was an alignment in views between Egypt and Iraq on the need to return to dialogue and diplomacy to reach political solutions to the current crisis. The Iraqi prime minister expressed his gratitude to President El-Sisi's constant support for Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
