The initiative targets examining 5 million primary school students nationwide and 2 million of the most in need, to provide 1 million prescription glasses and 250,000 eye surgeries.
The initiative aims to conduct more than 200 thousand surgical interventions with treatment and follow-up to reduce the blindness and poor vision cases while providing a distinctive service to the groups who are most in need. It also aims to work on the reintegration and empowerment of the visually-impaired persons and raising citizens’ awareness to make Egypt free of visual disability.
