President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and State Minister of Information Osama Heikal.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting addressed the work strategy of the State Ministry of Information.
The President issued directives for continuing work in order to keep pace with the growing technological development in the field of media and upgrade the mechanisms of communication with all segments of society, with the aim of providing knowledge and access to correct and accurate information from reliable sources. This enhances societal awareness and supports the preservation of the Egyptian identity.
Mr. Heikal presented the most prominent axes of the Ministry’s work strategy, which aims to reinforce commitment to the principles and values of media work, ensure credibility and transparency in various media, and enhance interest in intellectual and media education for new generations. Additionally, the strategy seeks to develop training systems for a cadre of media practitioners and increase the institutional capacities of the various media in dealing with local and international events.
The State Minister of Information also presented the Ministry's vision towards digitizing the Egyptian media according to the latest technological systems, with the aim of both formulating an advanced media system capable of accommodating the largest possible number of people and benefiting from the rich Egyptian media and cultural content.
