Within the framework of the State’s clean energy strategy, electric and hybrid vehicles are produced to meet the needs of the Egyptian market.

The meeting discussed efforts to localize the automotive and electric vehicle industries in Egypt. To that end, local manufacturing should be strengthened and cooperation with international companies specialized in this field should be promoted to benefit from their expertise and the latest global technology in this regard.

These efforts would gradually encourage using hybrid vehicles in order to keep pace with the automotive industry’s growth and environmental protection efforts.
This approach would also contribute to strengthening the State's efforts to expand strategic projects of social, economic and environmental dimension with the aim of lifting burdens from the citizens’ shoulders.
