President El-Sisi Follows-up on Work Progress in Engineering Authority Projects

Today, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi met with Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning,  Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed; Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, Major General Hisham Al-Suwaifi; Director of Major Projects Department of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, Major General Ahmad al-Azazi; Chairman of the Advisory Office of the Engineering Authority, Major General Ashraf al-Arabi and Assistant Chairman of the Engineering Authority for Road Designs, Brigadier General Abd El-Aziz al-Faqi.

The Spokesman for the Presidency said the meeting followed-up on work progress in projects implemented by the Engineering Authority nationwide.

President El-Sisi was briefed on proposals to improve the usability of the therapeutic tourism resources in South Sinai Governorate, particularly in the areas of Moses Bath and Pharaoh Bath, as well as sulfur water springs in Ras Sedr and Al-Tur. The President gave directives to establish in these unique areas integrated hospital centers, in line with the highest standards, in partnership with European expertise in this field, aiming to leverage Egypt’s wealth.

The meeting also discussed the upgrading of the road network, axes and bridges nationwide, mainly the various sectors of the coastal road. The President stressed the need to scrutinize all details so as to provide all safety factors for road users, and achieve the required traffic flow.

President El-Sisi also followed-up on development work on the Mokattam Plateau. The President directed to continue ongoing efforts to increase the efficiency of internal roads, axes and squares, including street 9 which is the main commercial lifeline of Mokattam.

The meeting also discussed ongoing efforts to utilize unexploited pieces of land and areas around Greater Cairo, as well as work progress in the upgrading of Salah Salem Road and the development of parks around Salah El Din Citadel.

The discussion also touched on a number of developmental projects nationwide, including the development of the irrigation system in Siwa Oasis, high-voltage electrical cables crossing the Suez Canal to provide electricity for Sinai development projects, in addition to residential neighborhoods of the New Administrative Capital.
