President El-Sisi Follows-up on Coastal Development and Protection Projects in North Coast Cities

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met Commander of the Strategic Command and Supervisor of Military Industrialization, Lieutenant-General Ahmed Khaled; Advisor to the President for Urban Planning, Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed; Commander of the Naval Forces, Rear Admiral A.H. Ashraf Atwa; Vice President of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, Major General Ahmed Al-Azzazi; Assistant Commander of the Naval Forces for Engineering Affairs, Rear Admiral A.H. Muhammad Fikri; Consultant in Marine Works, Dr. Hassan Abu Saad; Chairman of the Shaker Consulting Group, Dr. Ismail Al-Maraqabi, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Gharabli Company, Eng. Moatasem Al-Gharabli. 

The Spokesman for the Presidency said the President was briefed on progress in coastal development and protection projects in Alexandria and the North coast.

The President gave directives to continue the implementation of the various coastal development and protection projects in the  northern coast cities, particularly Alexandria, in line with the highest environmental and engineering standards. The President stressed the need to audit studies relevant to addressing the phenomenon of erosion and coastal erosion, in order to maintain the safety of coastal urban communities and preserve investments there.

The Spokesman said the President also reviewed projects, both which are currently being implemented and future ones, by the private sector, as part of efforts toward the enhancement, development and protection of coats, extending from Abu Qir area to the depth of the northwestern coast. This aims to leverage the state's resources, and their various components, particularly the outstanding and unique nature of the Egyptian coasts on the White Sea.
