Friday, 07 May 2021 / 04:02 PM

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi today went on an inspection tour of various new axes and roads being developed in East Cairo. The tour started from the area of Adly Mansour interchange station for Cairo Metro Line 3, the largest station in the Middle East and Africa. The area includes subway stations, an electrified train, railway, modern public transport buses, and a 65-feddan maintenance center for subway cars and tractors.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the President inspected the two-way 16-lane Adly Mansour Axis, comprising 8 lanes per direction and 11 bridges for vehicles and pedestrians. With that, this axis grows into a traffic artery integrating with the network of roads – Ismailia Desert Road and Belbeis– as well as East Cairo roads.

The axis is also connected to Mohamed Al-Assar Axis at Mostorod Bridge, thus reaching western and northern Cairo through the Shubra-Benha, Tahya Misr, and Al-Dabaa axes as well as Alexandria Desert Road.

During the inspection tour, the President discussed with officials at a number of work sites the progress of construction work. His Excellency stressed the importance of committing to the set timeframes for completion of projects with high technical and engineering specifications.

The President also spoke with a number of citizens, congratulated them on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, and listened to their opinions as well as living conditions.
