President El-Sisi Inspects Umm Al-Qamar Road Work Progress

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi went on an inspection tour of Umm Al-Qamar Road. It links Cairo/Ismailia Road with Cairo/Suez Road, extending to Ain Sukhna Road and the quarry service road, with 3 traffic lanes per direction and a total length of 102 km.

Umm Al-Qamar Road also aims to ease traffic and serve heavy transport trucks carrying loads of raw materials extracted from quarries in that area to the industrial and investment areas in Cairo and other cities, thus supporting the development process in the country.

The President also inspected the junction of Umm Al-Qamar and Kattameya/Ain Sukhna roads overpass. The President discussed with the workers and officials in charge the progress on the project.

The President was also keen to write words of appreciation on the project board saying: “I extend my sincere appreciation and thanks for the great effort made in the establishment of this significant axis, praise be to Allah, Lord of All Creation.”
