This Friday afternoon, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made a tour of inspection of a number of road development projects in Greater Cairo, including roads, axes and new bridges network, Old Cairo, Sayeda Aisha area and El-Hadarat axis.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that His Excellency inspected the development projects underway in east Cairo, Nasr City, Heliopolis and Autostrad Road.
He also made a tour of inspection of the bridges network constructed to connect the area of El-Hadarat axis with all other axes and main Capital roads. This comes as a part of the comprehensive plan to develop the area of Ain El-Sira Lake and that surrounding the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Old Cairo. These steps helped this area restore its glory and turn into a tourist attraction with a modern architectural designs and full services.
The President also was updated on the ongoing development operations in Sayeda Aisha area upon the removal of all slums that obliterated all historical features of this area. The families residing in these slums were transferred to the newly built cities. These cities were specially built for slums habitants, where they can be provided with a new, better and decent lives and all the services they need.
Moreover, workshops and tanneries were transferred to newly built areas as a part of the government’s plan to restore the glory of the Old City of Cairo which has a great historical legacy such as the Citadel’s monuments, Fustat area, Magra El-Oyoun, the Religious Complex area and the historical mosques surrounding this zone.
During the inspection tour, the President stopped to have discussions with the officials and supervisors in some of the construction sites. He called for adhering to the time frame set and following the highest levels of standards, as well as studying the capability of increasing the traffic lanes to accommodate the increasing daily traffic and to ease the movement of citizens.
