President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received, today, a phone call from Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq Mr. Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that, during the phone call, President El-Sisi and Mr. Al-Kadhimi discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries and the developments of a number of regional issues of mutual interest, particularly those in Afghanistan.
The Iraqi Prime Minister stressed his country’s appreciation for the Egyptian efforts in support of Iraq at all levels. He also expressed Iraq’s aspiration to strengthen cooperation with Egypt, particularly with regard to facing common challenges, foremost of which are combating terrorism and achieving security, stability, and development.
For his part, President El-Sisi stressed Egypt’s support for every effort that would enhance Iraq’s security and stability and Mr. Mustafa Al-Kadhimi’s efforts to strengthen the role of the Iraqi state institutions and preserve Iraq’s sovereignty and Arab identity.
Moreover, His Excellency affirmed that Egypt will continue to work on promoting cooperation with Iraq in various fields on the bilateral level or within the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Iraq and Jordan.
