President El-Sisi Receives Phone Call from Greek Prime Minister

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today a phone call from Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that President El-Sisi and Prime Minister Mitsotakis exchanged congratulations on signing maritime border demarcation agreement between Egypt and Greece in Cairo on the 6th of August. This reflects the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and the strong political will needed to  them at various levels, he added.

It was agreed, during the call, that signing this bilateral agreement is a turning point in the bilateral relations between the two countries, represents a model for consolidating the proper rules regulating demarcation, and contributes to achieving security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. The Spokesman added that It would also help Egypt and Greece make use of their natural resources to achieve the interests of the two friendly peoples.

During the call, they also exchanged views on some regional files of common interest, on top of which are the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. They agreed on the importance of intensifying coordination in this regard, taking into account the consistency of interests and common positions between the two countries.
