President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from US President Joe Biden.
The Spokesman stated that the call dealt with discussions and an exchange of views on the developments of the Palestinian cause and means of cooperation in order to stop the violence and escalation in light of the recent developments.
The US President expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the tireless efforts of the President with all parties to the issue, which are balanced and wise moves that seek to achieve security and peace for the entire region. Hence, Egypt's historical and pivotal role is reinforced in the Middle East, the Eastern Mediterranean and Africa so as to support stability and settle crises, a role that the American administration backs and relies on in order to de-escalate and stop violence.
The US President also affirmed his country’s aspiration to enhance bilateral relations with Egypt during the next stage in order to enable the two countries to face these unprecedented challenges regionally and internationally in light of the common priorities shared by the two friendly countries.
For his part, President El-Sisi stressed the importance of the decades-long strategic partnerships between Egypt and the US in achieving the common interests of the two friendly countries and facing common challenges. Moreover, the President asserted that the current crises are threatening the security and stability of the region at large, which requires strengthening cooperation and ensuring regular consultations between Egypt and the United States to ward off those dangers.
With regard to the developments in the Palestinian territories, the President stressed the importance of concerting all international efforts at the present time to contain the dangerous escalation in the Palestinian territories. Furthermore, the President affirmed Egypt's steadfast position towards reaching a radical and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, a solution that guarantees the legitimate and natural rights of the Palestinian people, like all the peoples of the world, in establishing their state in accordance with international references, thus ending the chronic state of violence and tension in the region and achieving security and stability.
The Spokesman added that there two sides agreed, in the phone call, to continue regular consultations and exchange of views. They also agreed to enhance fruitful mutual coordination between the relevant agencies in the two countries during the coming period in order to contain the escalation of the situation and to discuss issues of common interest at various bilateral, regional and international levels.
