President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received this evening a phone call from Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
As stated by the Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, the call discussed several areas of bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic, security and energy fields. In addition, there was an exchange of views on regional issues, particularly the updates of the Libyan file, in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The Greek Prime Minister expressed his country’s keenness to enhance joint cooperation with Egypt at the bilateral level or within the framework of the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus. This can be done in a manner that would advance the already unique cooperation among them. Furthermore, continuing consultation and coordination on all issues of mutual interest was underpinned by Greece’s PM.
For his part, President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s pride in all aspects of constructive cooperation as well as the signs of progress witnessed in Egypt-Greece bilateral or trilateral cooperation with Cyprus. His Excellency, hence, praised the progress achieved through the tripartite framework. The President also affirmed Egypt’s keenness to promote cooperation with Greece in furtherance of the mutual interests of the two friendly nations.
