President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi Speaks with the Ukrainian President

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Spokesman for the Presidency stated that President Zelenskyy underscored commitment to coordinating and consulting with President El-Sisi on issues in various fields. The Ukrainian President looked forward to advancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in light of Egypt’s pivotal role under the leadership of President El-Sisi, to consolidate the pillars of stability and security in the Middle East and Africa as well as Egypt’s successful and valued efforts to halt the danger of the illegal migration across its territories into Europe.

President El-Sisi lauded the growing momentum in Egyptian-Ukrainian relations over the past period. He said he seeks to promote relations to include various aspects of cooperation, notably in the fields of food industry, silos, ports, energy and tourism, in addition to joint investment projects.

The Spokesman for the Presidency noted that the call tackled ways to strengthen cooperation, particularly economic, investment and trade ties. This is in addition to boosting security cooperation between the two countries so as to serve their common interests. The two Presidents also reviewed the latest developments in regional and political issues of mutual interest.
