Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from President of the Republic of Senegal, President Macky Sall.
The Spokesman for the Presidency said the phone call reviewed preparations for the upcoming annual African summit, which is scheduled to take place next February.
President El-Sisi congratulated President Macky Sall on his country’s successful presidency of the African Union in 2022, which witnessed numerous international and regional challenges. These challenges had their huge repercussions on all political, economic and social levels in the African continent.
President Macky Sall expressed sincere appreciation and gratitude for Egypt’s position in support of his country in various aspects of the continental action during its presidency of the African Union. He noted that this reflected Egypt's keenness, under the leadership of President El-Sisi, on upholding the common interests of African countries and on seeking solutions to the issues and crises facing the continent.
The conversation also tackled developments in prominent files and issues of common interest at the regional and international levels.
