President El-Sisi Heads to Paris to Participate in International Conference on Libya

Today, President Abdel Fattah E-Sisi heads to the French capital, Paris, to participate in the International Conference on Libya.


The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency said the President’s participation in this important conference comes upon an invitation by French President Emmanuel Macron and in light of the robust relations between Egypt and France. This is in addition to Egypt’s vital role in supporting the political trajectory in Libya at the bilateral, regional and international levels.


During the conference, President El-Sisi is expected to focus on the international community’s concerted efforts to support Libya during the key historic turning point it is passing through, particularly by holding elections next December as scheduled and by the departure of all foreign forces, mercenaries and foreign fighters from Libyan territories. The President is also set to shed light on Egypt’s current efforts in this regard across the various economic, political and security levels.


The President’s agenda during his visit will include summit talks with French President Macron to discuss bilateral relations, which have been witnessing a significant leap over the past years, realizing the joint interests of the two countries and their peoples. The two Presidents are also expected to continue consultations, coordination and exchange of views on a multitude of regional and international dossiers of mutual interest.


President El-Sisi is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with senior officials in the French government to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in the economic, trade, investment and military fields between the two countries.


The President is also expected to hold talks with a number of heads of state and government to tackle ways to foster bilateral cooperation and consult on various regional and international issues.
