President El-Sisi Meets PM, Minister of Communications and Head of the Armed Forces' Signal Corps

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat, Head of the Armed Forces’ Signal Corps Staff Major General Tarek El-Zaher, and Chairman of the Satellite Committee Major General Mohamed El-Bashari. Chairman of the Military Mobile Committee Major General Amr Farouk and Head of the Signal Corps for Systems and Networks Brigadier General Mohamed also attended the meeting.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that, during the meeting, President El-Sisi was briefed on the plans and efforts of the Signal Corps of the Armed Forces to secure Egypt’s western side, the common borders with Libya and the northeastern and southern borders as well as Egypt’s international strategic borders. The President was further updated on the full-security measures on Egypt’s borders in cooperation and coordination with the competent government agencies using the technology of modern mobile and visual satellite telecommunications systems along with the Egyptian satellite "Tiba 1".

The President also followed up the implementation status of the project of establishing the unified government national network for emergency and public safety services. This project aims to support the state’s efforts in various insurance fields nationwide in order to harness the latest modern technological means for security and services provision nationwide.

President El-Sisi also discussed the unified government network project for linking the state’s entire administrative apparatus so as to support government data handling in a safe, fast and advanced manner. Hence, the administrative apparatus would upgrade all government services provided to citizens within the general framework of the strategic project for digitizing the state.
