President El-Sisi Meets with Prime Minister and Minister of Supply and Internal Trade

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Dr. Ali El-Meselhy and Director General of the National Service Projects Organization Major General Mostafa Amin.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed efforts made by the state to develop the bakery system nationwide.

In this context, the Minister of Supply presented the various stages of developing the bakery system nationwide. There are about 28 thousand bakeries in Egypt and Dr. Ali El-Meselhy has presented the ministry’s plan to raise their efficiency and convert them to work with natural gas instead of diesel fuel in cooperation with the concerned authorities.

The President called for accelerating the implementation steps to modernize all aspects of the bakery system and the circulation of bread nationwide. He stressed the importance of ensuring food safety, high quality production and clean energy usage. His Excellency also gave directives for facilitating the procedures and providing financial facilities for converting bakeries to run on natural gas so as to make use of the natural resources.

The Spokesman added that the President was also briefed on the development plan of "Qaha" and "Edfina" companies for food industries, in terms of the expected investment study of the project, the schedule, the total financial cost, the proposed organizational structure, and the development of production lines. The development plan will be carried out with the help of long-standing foreign expertise in the field of food industries, with the aim of restoring the distinguished production of the two companies, enhancing the value of the national product in the local market, and increasing their competitiveness and export capabilities.
