President El-Sisi Meets with Institutions of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, head of the General Intelligence Major General Abbas Kamel and a number of heads of civil society organizations who are members of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work.

The Spokesman for the Presidency stated that the meeting reviewed the activity of the National Alliance since its launch early this year. The Alliance consists of 24 associations and civil institutions in addition to the Decent Life Foundation and the General Federation of NGOs.

The meeting reviewed efforts made by the National Alliance in the fields of charity and development nationwide,  within the framework of the state's social protection and support system to serve the targeted groups, in coordination and cooperation between the government and civil society institutions.

President El-Sisi expressed appreciation for the social activity of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, which includes the most prominent leading civil society institutions and associations well-known for their efforts and successful experiences in helping limited income brackets across the country. This is considered an important pillar in the social safety net system, particularly in light of the current global economic conditions, which have affected many sectors especially food, in order to support the state's continuous development efforts, the latest of which was the social support package for which the President recently gave directives.

The President gave directives to increase the government support allocated to the Alliance by an additional one billion Egyptian pounds to support and assist its community activity, coinciding with the fact that 2022 is the year for civil society, also in order to continue social protection efforts for the neediest citizens by providing all possible social assistance.

President El-Sisi also gave directives to develop the National Alliance's charitable and developmental efforts to expand beyond providing assistance in order to offer jobs, increase production and achieve a tangible economic return for citizens within the scope of the work of charitable institutions.
