President El-Sisi Meets with Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning and Armed Forces Leaders

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces Staff Major General Ihab Al-Far, and Director of Armed Forces Engineering Authority Advisory Office Major General Khaled Bakry, as well as Director of road designs at the Engineering Authority Brigadier General Abdel Aziz El-Feki.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that, during the meeting, the latest developments in the new road network and axes projects in Cairo and several national projects nationwide, were discussed.

In this context, the implementation status of roads, axes and bridges enlisted in the development agenda of east Cairo, particularly in the areas of Nasr City and Gesr El-Suez, was tackled. The plan to link Adly Mansour Station to Cairo International Airport as well as the architectural and construction development carried out as part of the general plan for the lands surrounding the axes of Cairo International Airport, were further addressed.

In this respect, the President gave directives for implementing a new axis linking Mehwar Al-Shaheed “Martyr Axis” to the Suez Road and naming it after former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe as well as planning that area according to an advanced engineering and construction scheme and converting high-voltage overhead power lines to underground.

The President also emphasized on providing all integrated services to citizens in the various main axes under development and the already developed ones, including fuel stations, in order to provide security and safety for citizens; this plan yields solid return on investment and job opportunities.

The President was also briefed on the new developed design models for private universities and the construction work on a number of projects in the New Administrative Capital and El-Galala City. The President gave directives for applying consistent standards for promoting civil coordination, increasing green spaces and agricultural areas, and expanding roads and traffic lanes.
