The President Meets Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning and Chairman of Engineering Authority

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces Staff Major General Ihab Al-Far, Director of Armed Forces Engineering Authority Advisory Office Major General Khaled Mubarak, and Assistant Director of the Department of Military Engineers Major General Ashraf Al-Arabi, as well as Director of road designs at the Military Engineering Department Brigadier General Abdel Aziz El-Feki.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed the implementation status of a number of national projects carried out by the Engineering Authority across Egypt, especially those related to the national network of new roads and axes. The meeting also discussed the ongoing construction work in the New Administrative Capital and El-Galala City and the development plan of Ramses Square.

In this context, the construction and engineering position of some projects in the New Administrative Capital was showcased. They discussed in further detail the implementation status of the Diplomatic Quarter which will include the embassies of foreign countries and the headquarters of international and regional organizations located in Egypt. President El-Sisi called for expediting the implementation of this project, emphasizing that it has to include all the different services and various social activities for its residents and frequent visitors.

The engineering designs of the facilities at the Strategic Command Center, the main entrances to the New Capital, and Egypt’s Islamic Cultural Center.

The implementation status of a number of roads, axes and bridges in Cairo was also presented. In this regard, the meeting discussed the project aimed at raising the efficiency of the Greater Cairo Ring Road in its various stages. Moreover, the workflow related to the development projects of Cairo / Ismailia and Cairo / Suez desert roads and Sharm El-Sheikh Ring Road as well as the axes in Al-Arish and East Oweinat / Toshka Road, was presented.

The Spokesman added that the meeting touched on the various stages of the integrated project of Ramses Square development and the roads and surrounding axes upgrade in several directions to improve traffic flow. The President stated that the main goal of the integrated project is to develop the area to alleviate the burdens on citizens, facilitate traffic flow and reduce pollution.
