President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Trade and Industry Mrs. Nevine Gamea.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting addressed the developments of establishing industrial complexes across Egypt and the efforts to develop heritage industries.
The President gave directives for continuing to support handicraft and heritage industries as part of the plan to upgrade medium and small-sized industries, one of the state's mechanisms to provide job opportunities and raise employment rates. In this context, the annual exhibition called Turathna "Our Heritage” 2020 of handicrafts and heritage arts and products was inaugurated. The state, in its keenness to support the various national productive sectors, has taken the necessary controls and precautionary measures to prevent coronavirus.
The President also gave directives for continuing to implement the plans to establish industrial complexes nationwide as the national industry represents a locomotive for economic development, provided that the basic criteria for choosing the targeted industrial activities for these complexes are consolidating local manufacturing in order to bridge the gap between exports and imports. This is in addition to deepening partnership with the private sector, simplifying administrative procedures for investors and manufacturers, and taking into account the different components, capabilities and resources of each governorate.
Mrs. Nevine Gamea presented the implementation status of industrial complexes in all governorates nationwide, including the construction plan of industrial units, competitive advantages of each complex and the targeted industrial activities across 12 governorates.
