President El-Sisi Receives Lebanon’s PM-Designate

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today Lebanon’s Prime Minister-designate Saad Al-Hariri in the presence of the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Sameh Shoukry and the Director of the General Intelligence Service Mr. Abbas Kamel.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the President welcomed Mr. Saad Al-Hariri in Egypt. His Excellency stressed Egypt’s full support for Mr. Al-Hariri’s political path that aims to restore stability in Lebanon and address the current challenges.

President El-Sisi also expressed Egypt’s support for the efforts made to form the government, highlighting the importance of concerted efforts to settle differences. To overcome the situation Lebanon is currently suffering from, its national interest should be upheld.

Thus, the capabilities of the brotherly Lebanese people would be preserved and their national unity would be maintained.

For his part, Mr. Saad Al-Hariri praised Egypt’s tireless and sincere efforts to mobilize international support for Lebanon at various levels amid the ongoing difficult challenges faced by the Lebanese people, particularly on the economic and political levels.

The Lebanese PM further asserted that Lebanon takes pride in the solid historical relations between the two sisterly countries that are based on solidarity and fraternity.

Mr. Al-Hariri expressed his country's appreciation for Egypt’s vital role in maintaining its stability and that of the Arab region.

The Spokesman added that the meeting discussed the Lebanese political situation, ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries, and the most prominent developments in the region.
