President El-Sisi Meets United States Senator Lindsey Graham in Washington, D.C.

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with United States Senator Lindsey Graham in Washington, D.C.

The Spokesman for the Presidency said that Senator Graham welcomed the President's visit to the United States and  praised the strong relations between the two friendly countries. He looked forward to strengthening and developing the strategic partnership that binds them to broader horizons in the next phase across various fields.

The President expressed Egypt's appreciation for the  decades-long distinguished relations between the two  countries, noting Egypt's keenness to continue to promote and strengthen this partnership across various fields of joint cooperation.

The Spokesman added that the meeting tackled ways of strengthening bilateral relations in a number of fields, in addition to reviewing regional issues and crises, mainly the situation in Syria, Libya and Yemen. The President explained that Egypt will continue its diligent efforts to resolve the region's crises, which directly affect the security and stability of the region and the world. The President noted that Egypt's efforts seek political solutions in the first place and support national state institutions, as the effective way to confront terrorist elements and organizations that seek to destroy the concept of the state and spread chaos at the expense of security and stability.  
The meeting also touched on ongoing efforts to revive the peace process in the Middle East. The President noted that efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict must be carried out in accordance with the constants of international references, the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative. The President stressed Egypt's support for various efforts aimed at revitalizing the peace process and resuming negotiations on this basis and in a way that guarantees the rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. This shall change the current reality and open horizons for a new phase of security, progress and peaceful coexistence for all the peoples of the region.
