Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with French President Emmanuel Macron, on the sidelines of the COP 27 meetings.
The Spokesman for the Presidency stated that President El-Sisi welcomed the French President's visit to Egypt and lauded the development of bilateral relations in all fields. The President expressed that Egypt looked forward to enhancing political coordination and exchanging views with France on various regional and international issues of common interest, particularly issues related to food and energy security, as well as the sectors in which France has an advantage, such as transportation and electric car industry.
French President Macron expressed his country's appreciation to Egypt, praising the close ties and deep friendship that bind Egypt and France. He also lauded the unprecedented momentum that bilateral relations have gained recently in various fields, especially at the level of economic and trade relations.
The French president also noted Egypt's remarkable success in organizing a huge global event of the scale of the climate summit and stressed his country's keenness to intensively coordinate and consult with Egypt, being one of its most important partners in the region. He also valued Egypt's role in laying the foundations for stability in the Middle East, Mediterranean region and Africa.
The Spokesman added that the two presidents tackled a number of regional and international issues of common interest, especially the developments in Libya and the Russian -Ukrainian crisis.
