President El-Sisi Meets with World Jewish Congress President

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today President of World Jewish Congress Mr. Ronald Lauder, in the presence of the Director of the General Intelligence Service of Egypt.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that, during the meeting, they discussed the latest developments of the peace process in the Middle East, as well as the Egyptian-American relations.

In this context, President El-Sisi stressed that the Egyptian-American relations are of a strategic nature and underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation to develop these relations in all fields. The President added that there should be more coordination and regular consultations between the two friendly countries in light of the challenges facing the region, especially with regard to promoting efforts to arrive at political solutions to the crises in the region along with combating terrorism and extremist ideology.

For his part, Lauder praised the distinguished relations binding Egypt and the United States at various levels, praising Egypt's role, in this regard, in establishing peace and stability in the Middle East under the leadership of the President and confronting terrorism and extremist ideology and appreciating the President's efforts in promoting the values of tolerance, peace and coexistence.

During the meeting, the latest developments in the peace process in the Middle East were also discussed, the Spokesman added. President El-Sisi stressed the urgency of promoting international action towards resuming negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides with the aim of reaching a just and comprehensive settlement to the Palestinian cause in accordance with the international terms of references, which would open prospects for stability, prosperity and peaceful coexistence for all peoples of the region.
