President El-Sisi Receives Pakistan's Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Pakistan's Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Nadeem Raza in the presence of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production General Mohamed Zaki and the Pakistani Ambassador to Cairo.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the President asked to have his greetings conveyed to the Pakistani President Arif Alvi and the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.

His Excellency praised the historical relations between the two countries. He also stressed his aspiration to develop bilateral cooperation with Pakistan to encourage the exchange of experiences in various fields.

His Excellency further affirmed his keenness to enhance cooperation and consultation on various regional issues of mutual concern, on top of which is combating terrorism and extremist ideology since it is one of the main challenges facing the world.

In this context, the importance of intensifying joint efforts was emphasized in order to promote the true teachings and values of Islam, particularly tolerance and peaceful coexistence. Moreover, President El-Sisi stressed Egypt’s appreciation for the leadership and people of Pakistan, a pivotal country in the region.

For his part, General Nadeem Raza conveyed to the President the greetings of the Pakistani President and Prime Minister, affirming the deep relations between the two friendly countries and people. He further expressed his aspiration to explore new horizons of fruitful cooperation between Egypt and Pakistan, stressing that the stability of Egypt is the pillar of that of the Middle East and the Islamic world.

Gen. Nadeem Raza also praised the inspiring Egyptian experience in various development fields under the leadership of President El-Sisi.

He also commended Egypt’s balanced and rational policy in the region, the important role it played in terms of the cease-fire between the Palestinians and the Israelis, as well as its reconstruction efforts in Gaza.

The Spokesman added that the meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in a number of fields, especially in the security and military aspects.

The meeting also discussed means to increase meetings of senior leaders. In this regard, they stressed the importance of regularly holding joint defense committee meetings and promoting cooperation in the field of defense and military industries as well as joint training programs, the latest of which was " Guardians of the Sky - 1".

The latest developments regarding the situation in the Middle East and the Islamic world were also presented. The importance of continuing intensive coordination and advancing joint efforts between the two countries to maintain regional and international peace and security and combat terrorism and extremist ideology was emphasized.
