President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today Commander of the Navy Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled and CEO of Lürssen, an international shipbuilding German company, Mr. Peter Lürssen.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that, during the meeting, they tackled cooperation frameworks between the Egyptian side and the German company that has been renowned for constructing different types of vessels, such as corvettes, frigates, and warfare vessels, made with many years of expertise. During the meeting, they discussed the transfer of shipbuilding technology to Egypt in cooperation with the Egyptian Navy and the companies of the Marine Industries And Services Organization.
They further tackled the training programs the company will offer to the technical staff and efforts to raise the capabilities of the Egyptian cadres in these fields in accordance with international standards and quality requirements. Lürssen owns 8 shipyards around the world and has recently signed a deal to manufacture naval destroyers for the German navy whose cargo hold can handle 11,000 tons.
In this regard, the President stressed the importance of cooperating with the German company that enjoys unrivalled reputation in the field of shipbuilding.
The CEO of Lürssen praised Egypt's security, stability and promising direct investment opportunities, in light of the infrastructure development efforts undertaken by the Egyptian government and the improvement in the investment climate.
